About me

Hi! My name is Michel. I’m a researcher, software developer, musician, and photographer living in Germany. I’m deputy department head of the Spatial Information Management competence center of the Fraunhofer Institute for Computer Graphics Research IGD in Darmstadt, Germany. My research interests are in Compiler Construction and Language Recognition (in particular for Domain-Specific Languages), Artificial Intelligence as well as Big Data and Cloud Computing. I’m development lead of the 3D GIS area and contribute to several EC-funded research projects. I hold a master’s degree in computer science from the THM Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen – University of Applied Sciences, Gießen, Germany where I’m now also a lecturer for Distributed Systems, Cloud Computing and Big Data.

In my free time, I’m a musician and a photographer, mostly doing travel photography. Besides, I work on several open-source libraries and software projects such as the free Anti Spam Software Spamihilator. Spamihilator works between the email client and the Internet and examines every incoming message. Useless spam mails (Junk) will be filtered out.
